Veterans Memorial Won't Go Uncared For in North Canton
The memorial's maintenance and repairs will be handled by the City of North Canton.
Starting in July, the city will assume responsibility for the maintenance and care of the Bitzer Park Veterans Memorial.
The move was facilitated by Mayor David Held.
The North Canton Veterans Memorial Committee, which was originally charged with the monument's upkeep, will pass $12,000 in funds it has raised to help fund the effort.
According to the city's finance director Karen Alger, the money can only be used for the memorial.
