North Canton Natives Opening Pita Pit June 20

Pita Pit, a popular quick-service restaurant, provides a healthier lunch or dinner option.

14 days and counting.

This week, twin sisters Terra and Tana Walther, 28, announced the new Pita Pit will open June 20 on North Main Street.

As one would assume, the pair welcomes the fact it's their second owned-and-operated Pita Pit they've opened within the last three years, but more importantly, they're elated the restaurant is opening in their city: North Canton.

The two sisters attended GlenOak High where they now coach track and field, and they live within walking distance of their new restaurant, said Tana.

"We're definitely excited to expand from Kent and into North Canton," said Tana. "A lot of friends and family live nearby ... and we're glad to be giving them and the rest of the community a fresh, healthy option."

The quick-service restaurant features Lebanese-style pitas that can be filled with savory meats, a variety of veggies, cheeses and sauce.

Customers can either order their pitas to go, or dine in, said Tana.

"It's just one of many projects around the city we're looking forward to," said North Canton Economic Director Eric Bowles. "I think it'll be well-received."

Pita Pit is located at 1102 North Main Street in the same plaza as Guys Pizza and Booney & Pooch.
