The North Canton Hoover Vikings volleyball team defeated the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals 3-1 Monday night
After barely winning game one 26-24, the Hoover High Lady Vikings dropped game two 25-18 to the CVCA Royals before rallying to win games three and four to take the match.

The Hoover High Vikings softball team advances to the state championship by shutting out Boardman 3-0 Saturday
Senior Ashley Hall pitched a shutout game against Boardman. The Vikings' next opponent will be Elyria at 10 a.m. Friday at Firestone Stadium.

The Hoover High School girls' softball team defeated defending state champion Massillon Perry 4-2 in the district finals played Wednesday

Lightning and high energy were both present Friday night as the Hoover boys' lacrosse team traveled to archrival Jackson
The Hoover High School Viking boys' lacrosse team, ranked 11th in the state of Ohio, traveled to Jackson Friday night to battle the team ranked 18th in the state. The game was delayed a half hour because of lightning, but the weather didn't stop Hoover from striking early as they took the opening faceoff and scored for the early 1-0 lead. The Vikings also led briefly 2-1 before the Polar Bears ran off four straight goals. The game was delayed another 30 minutes because of lightning with 9:39 remaining in the second quarter and the Vikings down 5-2. *Jackson boys led 6-4 at halftime, but the Vikings finished the game with a 10-9 win. Their record now is 11-3. *Editor's note: North Canton Patch originally had Hoover leading at halftime.

The North Canton Hoover Vikings tennis team won all three singles flights and both doubles teams took second place to win the Federal League Tournament Thursday
Nick Fockler, Justin Carpenter and Rob Demarco won all three singles flights as they each defeated Lake players in the finals. Both North Canton Hoover doubles teams took second place, coming up short against the Jackson doubles teams.

Officials called the game as Louisville led 10-8
Louisville came to town on this frigid Monday evening to take on the Hoover High School Vikings baseball team. They went home leading 10-8 when the game was called in the seventh inning because of darkness.

The Vikings walked away with two wins after Saturday's doubleheader
The Hoover High School girls softball team played a doubleheader Saturday against the Wooster Generals. The first game was a 12-0 mercy win after four innings, and the second game was 12-0 after only two innings.
