North Canton police conducted a narcotics and drug check at Hoover High School Thursday, finding no drugs in the one hallway area they searched. One K-9 unit from the Canton Police Department assisted in checking lockers in the designated hallway. The K-9 was not used to search people or students. The 30-minute drug check was an exercise in providing a collaborative and proactive approach between the school administrators and the police department, according to a news release issued that day.
