The event, now in its second year, takes place April 28 and raises money for North Canton Elementary School PTO and PTA organizations

Viking Victory Run organizers are on their marks and ready to kick off another successful race next month. Sunday's Viking Victory Run was such a success, organizers already are thinking ahead to next year's event. This weekend's 5k and kids fun run kicked off at Hoover High School and Memorial Stadium and raised about $16,500 for the elementary schools. Not only that, but organizer Todd Davy said it accomplished another goal: It brought the North Canton community closer together as it works to realign its school buildings for the 2012-2013 school year. "Our original goal was to give something back to the schools," Davy said. "We wanted to encourage our kids to be fit. We wanted to get our families out running.
