A strong effort by the Hoover High boys basketball team wasn't enough to pull out a win over the St. Vincent-St. Mary team Tuesday night. The Vikings lost 79-71. Some highlights? Hoover led after the first quarter, 21-15, and senior forward Harrison Blackledge scored 11 fourth-quarter points, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Dom Iero led Hoover with 22 points and Blackledge 21. “I was proud of our effort,” coach Randy Montgomery told the Beacon. “I felt like it was a good game for us to play because it was kind of a physical game.
