Time magazine may have named President Obama their Person of the Year, but North Canton residents know that many of their neighbors are worthy of the title. Who is North Canton's Person of the Year — the man or woman who, in Timespeak, "most influenced the news this year for better or worse?" LOOK: Famed Cucumber Tree Gets 1,000th Visitor

Traveling groups have flocked to Auburn Knolls in North Canton to get a peek at the 432-year-old cucumber tree

The North Canton Cucumber Tree — the world's largest and oldest of its species — welcomed its 1,000th visitor this past weekend. Rod Covey, a North Canton resident and cucumber tree expert, introduced a busload of Christian Church members from New Philadelphia to the tree this past Sunday. And this particular tree — located in Auburn Knolls, a 34-acre gated community near South Main Street and Easthill Street NE — is a whopping 432 years old. "I think this may as well be the eighth wonder of the world,” Covey was quoted in the Canton Repository recently, after introducing a traveling group — and its 800th visitor — to the tree. “...
