Alan Frank of Ermanno's Pizza got a surprise Wednesday when he was asked to cook up a couple pizzas for football great Joe Namath
Ermanno's Legendary Pizza can add one more fan to their growing list — Joe Namath. The locally owned pizza shop got a chance to impress the football great Wednesday and cook up a couple pies as part of a photo shoot. Namath is in the North Canton area after the announcement of his new Joe Namath Portable Stove and its being manufactured at the Hoover District. Suarez Manufacturing Industries also announced the production of the new EdenPURE Perfect Storm Sweeper Tuesday.

When I was 13, maybe 14, I spent a summer in Bar Harbor, ME, with a friend. What a unique place. I remember walking into a little shop and seeing T-shirts boasting the “lifestyles of the young and aimless” as being the town's motto. It certainly seemed that way. In the park in the town square were drum circles and singing neo-hippies, punk rockers smoking under trees and skateboarders on ramps. To a teen girl it was like heaven on Earth. The second night of our trip my friend’s parents took us out to eat at a little pizza shop on the square. It looked like any other pizza shop on Earth, that is until the pizza came. What's it take to please a panel of judges with a taste for great pizza? Ermanno's Legendary Pizza in North Canton seems to know the answer
If Ermanno’s Legendary Pizza keeps doing what it’s doing, it may one day be selling the best pizza in North America. No, really. The owners of Ermanno's — 3159 Whitewood St. NW — competed this past weekend in the North American Pizza and Ice Cream Show in Columbus and placed fourth and eighth in two competitions. That was out of 75 pizza makers in each competition. The annual show crowns the winning pizza “best pizza in North America.” “I was hoping for first, but I’ll take fourth,” said Alan Frank, who owns Ermanno’s with his wife, Lisa Lynch-Frank, also a North Canton Patch contributor and member of our Moms Council.
