Hundreds of students attended their commencement ceremony Sunday at Walsh University
If it wasn't clear from her wide grin, Walsh University graduate Audri Fendenheim's handmade sign brought the message home: She was happy to be done with school and head down a new path. Standing in the lobby of Walsh's Gaetano Checcini Gym and Fitness Center Sunday afternoon, Fendenheim held in her hand a poster that read: "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God almighty! Walsh physical therapy students, as part of a service learning project, hosted the “Amazing Race” Health Fair for Kids. …

Students of the Walsh University Doctor of Physical Therapy program invite North Canton residents of all ages to lace up their tennis shoes and step out to stay healthy. Seniors in the program will host their first Fit Family Race Saturday on and around campus to provide the community with an opportunity to participate in an organized physical activity. “As physical therapy students, we really want to promote community fitness and wellness because we see how important it is to stay active,” said Carli Braun, DPT senior and event co-chair. Adult race participants can either walk or run the 3-mile course, which begins and ends in the main parking lot of Walsh University. Braun said the adult race will begin at noon, following the kid fun run…
