Hoover High Homecoming: We Want Your Photos!

Will you be at Friday's game? How about taking photos of your kids on the way to the homecoming dance? You'll likely be taking photos, so send'em in!

We're ready to round up some more viewer photos, this time of Hoover High School's homecoming. We're talking about the game versus Austintown Fitch and the homecoming dance. Here's what we need you to do: You're already snapping tons of photos, so send a couple (two or three) to North Canton Patch Editor Morgan Day at Morgan.Day@patch.com. Provide your full name and hometown, as well as who's in the photo. If you've got kids going to the dance, go ahead and let them know we're looking for their photos, too, and tell them how to submit them. Then, keep a look out for our "from the viewers" homecoming gallery next week!

Southwest Youth Football Players and Cheerleaders Prep for Football Preview: Photo Gallery

More than 100 North Canton-area kids have been practicing six times a week for football and twice weekly for cheerleading in anticipation of the Aug. 20 event

The 64th Annual All-Ends Football Preview is coming up on Aug. 20, and more than 100 kids are busy preparing their moves. Nearly 60 boys are participating in football and more than 45 girls from grades 3 to 7 are participating as cheerleaders. Coach Kevin Wood heads the A football team, while the B team is led by Robert Lee. Each coach makes sure the students are properly warmed up before each practice and …

Order Up! Five Guys Burgers and Fries Now Open For Business

Did you know that Five Guys opened Monday? We ran over to see what all the fuss was about

Five Guys Burgers and Fries opened Monday at The Strip, and we got a chance to talk about it with Elizabeth Smith, Five Guys director of talent sourcing. Smith said the new store at 6652 Strip Ave. NW is part of a franchisee group of stores located in the Northeast Ohio and Pittsburgh area. She's in charge of hiring employees for the stores in the area and only looks for high-energy employees, she said. Smith said the North Canton location is the first store of this group to be built from the ground up and workers spent extra time making sure every detail was right before it opened.   Smith said the chain's focus is to only serve a couple of items but make sure that they are all done well. The chain does not spend any money on marketing; …

Have Summer Photos? We Want to See Them!

Rob Netro makes a nice Viewfinder photo gallery, but this week we're giving him a break and asking for photos from you guys — the viewers. Send in your best summer photo and we'll put you in a drawing for a Patch prize!

Were you snapping pictures on a recent trip to Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor? Or capturing some wet 'n' wild moments of your kids running through the sprinklers or splashing around at Dogwood Pool? We want those photos from you that just scream "summertime!" We'll round them up and use them in this week's Viewfinder photo gallery, which runs every Thursday. Just send us the photo (or photos) through email along with your name, hometown and a caption for the photo. We'll be sure to credit you when the photo runs on the website. Hey, we'll even put you in a drawing for a Patch prize, as long as you haven't won anything from us in the past 60 days. So go on and submit your summertime snapshots to North Canton Patch Editor Morgan Day at…

Stark Parks' Hike a Hundred Club: Viewfinder Photo Gallery

We went along with the Hike a Hundred Club at the Hoover Park Connector Trail in North Canton. Check out the gallery below to see who went, what is on the trail and where the trail is

North Canton Patch Contributor Rob Netro tagged along on this recent hike on the Hoover Park Connector Trail — the one you can get to from the Washington Square area and Walsh University ball fields.  He found a lot of cool insects and folks taking part in the Hike a Hundred Club, organized through Stark Parks. Check out this link for more information about the club.
