Sheriff-elect Michael McDonald will not take office: Stark County voters chose Michael McDonald to take the position of Stark County sheriff, but McDonald announced this week's he's medically unfit to take the position this year. 3. My Top 5 Wish List for Cleveland Browns Coach

After Pat Shurmur's firing, I let my mind wander about who could be the next head coach. Here's what I came up with.

Editor's note: Mitch Cooper is a field editor for Ohio Patch sites. I called for Shurmer's firing last season, and while it took an extra year, it finally happened. On Monday the Cleveland Browns let go of Head Coach Pat Shurmer, along with General Manager Tom Heckert. To be honest, I do feel bad for Shurmer. He was put in a tough spot. He came in with no time to work with his team due to the lockout and because, well, it is the Cleveland Browns we're talking about; no coach comes in without something going terribly wrong. Still, it didn't seem like Shurmer was a good fit for the team and the city. There is a reason that no one runs Chip Kelly's offense in the NFL - Quarterback Fatalities. It isn't plausible in today's NFL (even with the dumbed down rules). Kyle Shanahan can be fired too easily as his only credential is his daddy. We need a SB winning coach who cannot be fired in two short years. Gruden would be fine.   more ›
