Watch: Santorum Talks 'Core Values' In Lake County

Santorum says there are three things families can do to avoid poverty

GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said building the economy and cutting taxes is not enough to restore America to greatness. He said Americans also needed to return to core family values to be successful. Santorum said that if people did three things -- work, graduate from high school, get married and not have children before they're married -- then they only have a two percent chance of falling beneath the poverty line during their life time. Conversely, people who don't do just one of those things have a 74 percent chance of living in poverty, he said. Rick Santorum Talks Health Care, Manufacturing In Lake County

Santorum says he would not tax manufacturers, repeal any Obama initiative that costs more than $100 million

Health care and manufacturing were the key themes for GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum in his keynote speech Friday at the Lake County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner at the American Croatian Lodge in Eastlake. In front of the 800 people, who paid as much as $250 to hear him speak, Santorum railed against President Barack Obama's health care plan, calling it "public enemy number one against freedom in America." "You think the Cleveland Clinic would exist if the government ran health care for the last 100 years?" he said. Santorum told the crowd that, if elected, he would repeal every Obama initiative that cost more than $100 million per year on his first day in office. Santorum Ineligible for GOP Delegates in Three Ohio Districts

Santorum can't compete for Republican delegates in Ohio's 6th, 9th and 13th congressional districts. The 9th and 13th districts are in Northern Ohio.

GOP Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum won't be able to compete for all of Ohio's delegates in the March 6 Republican primary. Santorum won't be on the ballot in Ohio's 6th, 9th and 13th congressional districts because he did not file for them, announced Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted on Wednesday. The failure to file means Santorum won't be able to collect those districts' nine delegates to the Republican National Convention later this year, when the GOP will officially annoint its presidential candidate. The other major candidates, including Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, filed to run in all of Ohio's districts. The 9th and 13th districts include parts of Northern Ohio.
