Resident Pulls Drunken Man from Nimishillen Creek: Crime Blotter

A man walking his dog near Nimishillen Creek got a surprise Nov. 29 when he discovered a body floating in the water in the creek's west branch. The man pulled a 57-year-old North Canton resident from the water and helped him to his own home in the 700 block of Lynbrook Street SE, where police later met them. The man who was pulled from the creek told police he had slipped, fallen in and couldn't get out. When talking to the man, police said they could smell alcohol on his breath, according to the North Canton police report. North Canton medics then took the man to Aultman Hospital.
