1. So North Canton Patch got a little video crazy and produced the following videos this week: 2. The North Canton City Schools Board of Education approved a two-year contract that includes a wage freeze at Wednesday night's meeting. 3. Stylists at Salon at Belden Place gave free up-do's to girls and haircuts for boys in the North Canton-based Pathway Caring for Children. The kids were on their way to Pathway's prom Friday night

Children from around Stark County got the royal treatment at Salon at Belden Place Friday when hairstylists donated their time to give about 13 foster kids up-do's and haircuts before their prom that night. The kids attend different high schools throughout the county, but they came together through Pathway Caring for Children, a North Canton-based private nonprofit that offers foster care and adoption services. The Pathway prom took place Friday night at Shady Hollow Country Club in Massillon. The kids wore donated suits and dresses, said Kari Willoughby, vice president of training and development for the Junior League of Stark County, a nonprofit women's organization that worked with Pathway to create the prom. Mark Marchino, foster parent and owner of Mark Angelus Salon, brought in two outside hairdressers when they were out of work
It wasn't anything too out of the ordinary for Mark Marchino when he brought two outside hairstylists into his salon while they waited to move into their new location. Some people, if in Marchino's shoes, might worry other stylists would steal business. Marchino didn't bother with those worries. The owner of North Canton's Mark Angelus Salon only wanted to help out two fellow stylists and ensure they weren't out of jobs while they awaited their move into a new building. The stylists, Tim Rypien and Kurt Frentzel, who joined Marchino in his salon a couple weeks ago, said it's in Marchino's nature to readily offer his hand to those in need. He's volunteered for several community fundraisers — some that benefit people he doesn't even know — …
