Firefighters Respond to Taco Bell Fryer Fire

A Taco Bell employee was able to extinguish the blaze before fire crews arrived

North Canton firefighters responded to a fryer fire about 8:40 a.m. today at the North Main Street Taco Bell, according to the Canton Repository.  Fire Chief John Bacon told the newspaper that a Taco Bell employee was able to put out the flames with an extinguisher and no one was injured. RECALL: Toy Truck Poses Fire Hazard

There is a voluntary recall on a toy exclusively sold at Kohl's.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall on toy truck gifts given with the purchase of boys T-shirts exclusively at Kohl's because one caught fire and three others were smoldering. The toy is battery operated and there have been reports that the battery compartment can smolder or catch the trucks on fire, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers, according to a Fire Service Alert forwarded to Patch by Stow Fire Safety Educator Sandy Ray. No injuries have been reported. This recall involves Big Movers Super Car toy trucks that were gifts with the purchase of Big Movers T-shirts that were sold between February and March. Firefighters Douse Shed Fire on East Maple

The fire caused about $3,500 in total damages Sunday night

Investigators at the North Canton Fire Department aren't sure what started a shed fire that caused about $1,500 in structural damages and $2,000 in damages to contents Sunday night. Twenty firefighters responded with two engines and a ladder truck to 905 E. Maple St. at 10:13 p.m. that night and found the 8x12-foot shed fully involved, according to a news release from the department. Firefighters had the fire under control within 20 minutes. A neighbor had notified the homeowners of the fire, and the homeowners called 911.
