As the final market day approaches Saturday, organizers consider ways to make next year's season a bigger success
The final day of the North Canton Farmers Market is approaching Saturday, and as it does, market organizers are already thinking of ways to make next year's season an even better one. One way, said organizer Dan Tullius, is to shorten the season. "It’s almost like the market has faded out here at the end," Tullius said. "A lot of our produce vendors are gone and people aren’t coming. I think that the public has kind of lost interest in the market. They’re getting on to other things now that summer's over." Tullius said the market still would start in early June, just as it did this year, but it would wrap up by the end of September. Organizers have worked to bring in more special events this year, like opening the market to entertainers …

The market already is promoting vendors, new and old, on its Facebook page. You can catch the market from *8:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Oct. 13. …

The market may move from its location behind the Main Street Grille, and vendors will start paying for their spots at the market
It didn’t take much to convince Jim Yakley to take part in North Canton’s first farmers market. Why? It was free, and it would give his company and his products some great exposure, he said. And, after the market’s final day Oct. 15, Yakley still is glad he did it. Market organizers will start charging vendors to attend next year, but that still won’t make a difference in whether Yakley participates, he said. “I would absolutely pay a fee to set up a stand there,” he said. “I've …
