Booster Club funds may be missing The Orange Crush Football Booster Club filed a police report saying there may be some money missing from its funds, but the group is unsure just how much. If money was taken, it would have been between Jan. 1, 2009, and November 12, 2012. On a related note, Orchard Hill PTA reported thousands missing from their funds in 2012. Police had issued a news release that September saying a forensic accountant from the Bureau of Criminal Identification concluded that it can't be determined any money was stolen from the Orchard Hill PTA. A North Canton man fled after a crash in the 100 block of South Main Street, then fought with police when they confronted him at his home in the 1000 block of Bel Air Drive NE March 2. According to the North Canton police report, the 47-year-old man didn't stop after he was involved in the crash, which caused injuries to the other car's occupants. Police found the man a short time later at his home, and the man fought with police when they attempted to handcuff him. He was found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and arrested for driving under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor; assured clear distance ahead, a minor misdemeanor; hit-skip and resisting arrest, both first-degree misdemeanors. A 22-year-old North Canton man, reportedly high on keyboard cleaner, crashed his car into a tree about 3 p.m. Feb. 25. The man was huffing from a 12-ounce aerosol can then passed out and crashed in the 200 block of Roselane Street SW. The police report did not indicate he was treated for injuries. Paranoid neighbor On Feb. 15, North Canton police responded to an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Beechwood Avenue NE after receiving multiple complaints of an ongoing disturbance. As officers arrived on scene, they could hear a tenant – a reported paranoid schizophrenia – screaming and jumping around his apartment. Officers tried to reason with the 41-year-old North Canton man, but he refused to open the door and started talking to himself. According to the North Canton police report, officers were concerned the man posed a risk to himself and others, so they asked the building manager to unlock his door. A Canton man must have thought he had a good thing going when he managed to steal a cart full of groceries from the Washington Square Giant Eagle. So, he returned the next night to try his luck again. North Canton police stopped a driver for having a loud exhaust system when he was driving through the 1300 block of North Main Street about 1:20 a.m. Dec. 30.
