The Cleveland RTA has released the name of the bus driver who uppercut a woman on a bus in Beachwood in a video that became viral this week. Artis Hughes, a 22-year-veteran of the Cleveland RTA, has been identified as the bus driver in the video. He was suspended Oct. 11 after RTA personnel saw the video online. Hughes called Transit Police and filed a report that he had been assaulted, but Lane did not file a report. Neither party pressed charges against the other. A little after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, we will have an opportunity to witness one of the rarest predictable celestial events: a transit of Venus, and a festival at Edgewater Park will allow you to witness it for free. The Transit of Venus Often referred to as the "Evening Star" or "Morning Star," Venus is the brightest natural object in our sky after the Sun and the Moon. As the second planet from the Sun, it's closer to the Sun than the Earth is. A "transit" of Venus occurs when Venus passes between us and the Sun in such a way that we can see Venus's silhouette backlit by the Sun's brilliant light.
