Jennifer Kling and Betty Fulton were sworn in and the board picked its president and vice president at North Canton Board of Education meeting Thursday night
Betty Fulton and Jennifer Kling, North Canton City Schools' two new board members, were surrounded by friends and family as they were sworn in at their first meeting Thursday night. Kling's mother, Stark County Commissioner Janet Weir Creighton, helped swear in her daughter that night. Fulton and Kling ran in the November election against incumbent and then-board president Jordan Greenwald, Matthew Oatley and Anthony Bianchi. The two women beat out Greenwald and replaced Nancy Bundy, who chose not to run for re-election. The two attended their final meeting as North Canton City School Board members Thursday night
Nancy Bundy and Jordan Greenwald reflected on their years on North Canton City Schools’ Board of Education at their last board meeting Thursday night. Bundy, a member for 12 years, chose not to run for re-election this year, while Greenwald, board president and member for four years, was defeated in the November election in which five candidates vied for two board seats. The Stark County Board of Elections recounted votes in the North Canton City Schools Board of Education race Monday
There's no doubt after a Monday recount by the Stark County Board of Elections: Jennifer Kling will join the North Canton City School District Board of Education. The Canton Repository reported Kling won the vote — 4,294 to 4,283 — over incumbent Jordan Greenwald, the board's president. The recount was one of three involving boards of education in Stark County, the Rep reported. Betty Fulton also takes a seat on the board for the first time. Jeanette Mullane, Stark County Board of Elections director, said voters who think they should have voted in the North Canton School Board race will not have another chance to vote
North Canton Patch has gotten word that several voters believe they received the wrong ballots regarding the North Canton City School Board race on Election Day. Some people who cast their ballots at the North Canton Church of Christ feel they should have voted for North Canton City School Board and instead got information about Plain Township on their ballots. Jeanette Mullane, Stark County Board of Elections director, said it’s a common concern she hears every year, and it’s likely the voters were confused about which district they lived in but still received the correct ballots. Unofficial election results had Betty Fulton and Jennifer Kling topping the list of five candidates running for North Canton City Schools Board of Education
Longtime educator Betty Fulton came out on top in the race for North Canton City Schools Board of Education, according to unofficial results from the Stark County Board of Elections Tuesday night. Fulton led the race with 4,684 votes, while Jennifer Kling brought in 3,611 votes. Voters chose two school board seats held by current president Jordan Greenwald and Nancy Bundy, who did not seek re-election. Voters had their pick of five candidates to fill those two seats, which serve four-year terms. Candidates included Fulton, Kling, Greenwald, Anthony Bianchi and Matthew Oatley.
