Two Friends Bring Community Awareness to Local Nonprofit

Two friends, one passion, and a night of guest bartending sound like a recipe for a great time. Read on to see how these ladies are making a difference in the community

Two friends with a passion to help a local nonprofit gain more community awareness know what it takes to raise money — a good time where people can relax and have fun for a worthy cause. Amanda Anderson and Denise Dennewitz first met at work. Dennewitz works at Graphic Enterprises Office Solutions (GEI), and Anderson works in the same building for a sister company, GEI Wide Format. Over the years, they became good friends through work and kept bumping into each other at various chamber events. GEI is a huge advocate of giving back to the community, as well as the Jackson Belden Chamber of Commerce and the Jackson Belden Young Professionals, organizations that Anderson and Dennewitz are involved in. “Amanda and I were both raised to give …

Viewfinder: Celebrity Server Night at Quaker Steak & Lube

Quaker Steak & Lube in North Canton reached out to the Green community by hosting a celebrity server night Monday

Celebrity Server Night at North Canton's Quaker Steak & Lube was a big success Monday evening as restaurant employees raised funds for both the Green Schools Outreach Network and the Green All Sports Booster Club. More than 50 people from the Green area were first-time customers to Quaker Steak & Lube for the event. The funds raised in tips will be used by the levy committee to support a school levy on the May 3 ballot. "Celebrities" included Green Mayor Dick Norton and Mike Nutter, superintendent of Green Local Schools.
