Akron Civic Theatre and the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet present "The Little Mermaid."
The Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet will take the stage this weekend in the premier of The Little Mermaid, choreographed by former New York City Ballet Soloist Tom Gold. The ballet is based on the story by Hans Christian Anderson, and the reprisal of Seasoning. The CVYB is a pre-professional dance company with dancers ranging from age 8 to 18. There are more than 40 male and female dancers who perform original ballets choreographed and staged by professionals. There are performances at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets start as low $10 and can be bought here. Both shows are held at the Akron Civic Theatre, 182 S. Main St., Akron.

Three local bands and singers will take the stage Saturday night.
