Located in the city hall building, the City of North Canton Police Department employs twenty-four full-time officers, two detectives and is headed by Chief Michael J. Grimes, who joined the force in 1978. The Department also employs one school resource officer who manages a twelve-week D.A.R.E. program during the first half of each school year. Officers enforce traffic laws and investigate crimes in North Canton, as well as monitor parking throughout the city.
