Who We Will Help in 2013:

Friends of the Pound (FOTP) is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that works with the Stark County Ohio Dog Warden to improve the quality of life of homeless puppies and dogs and increase their chances of rescue and adoption. FOTP has established a vet room and surgery suite inside the pound where most dogs are treated for infectious but treatable diseases such as ringworm, mange, and parvo. Because these conditions are contagious, the organization needs a negative pressure isolation room where sick dogs can be quarantined from the other dogs with no risk of air being shared between them. Funds raised at Rocktoberfest would help with the cost of this ISO room as well as a separate entrance and a dedicated water and drainage system.

A nonprofit Christian outreach organization, Hammer & Nailshelps disadvantaged families with home repairs and property improvements. With a long waiting list of families requiring their services, the organization is in dire need of new power and hand tools; the money raised at Rocktoberfest will be used to replace over-used and worn-out tools.

North Canton resident Halle Land suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which cause cranial instability and dizziness, as well as other problems. Having endured multiple surgeries and physical challenges, Halle, who has a passion for mission work and volunteering with children, cannot have children of her own; she and her husband hope to adopt foster children. She currently needs a laundry room on the first floor of their home, as it is very difficult for her to carry laundry up and down steps. Rocktoberfest funds will help pay for the necessary remodeling to their home.
