Walsh University Students, Faculty Honor Martin Luther King Jr.

Walsh University students volunteered their time around North Canton Monday

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is not a day off for some students and faculty members, but rather a day to give back to the community and celebrate the civil right activist's legacy. Nearly 30 students, faculty and family members volunteered for the university's National Day of Service event, organized by Beth Juelich-Velotta and Melissa Moore.

Everyone took the afternoon to volunteer at places such as the House of Loreto, Boys & Girls Club, Catholic Charities, Refuge of Hope and Junior Achievement.  Duties included mopping floors, washing wheelchairs, assembling shelving units, washing dishes, preparing meals, rearranging storage rooms and even playing games with kids.
