Last year the North Canton Jaycees were for the annual Celebration in the Park and July 4 fireworks, and had to tell community members the festivities might not go on.
Well, not this year.
Suarez Corp. Industries, which , stepped forward to co-sponsor both the fireworks and the celebration, which begins at 6 p.m. that day. Sam's Club also chimed in to sponsor the event.
“We are very excited to have SCI as the co-sponsor of the 2012 North Canton Jaycees and Suarez Corporation Industries Celebration in the Park," said Jamie McCleaster, public relations director for the North Canton Jaycees.
"When initially looking for a co-sponsor, and thinking about what the 4th of July means, SCI immediately came to mind because of their long standing history in the area and their new presence at the former Hoover complex. We are also excited to have our friends at Sam’s Club returning as a sponsor this year.”
So, what else is in line for the celebration? For starters, local rock band Electramode will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot.
Electromode is working on its fourth studio album due out this summer. Members of the band include Chris Eckroad, Dan Smarr, Gary Carraway and Frank Swanson. They'll entertain with covers of classic rock bands like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and many more. For more information check out their website at www.electramode.com.
And the beloved North Canton fireworks display will light up the sky at dusk.
