Scores of balloons lifted off at dawn on Friday from Kent State University at Stark to kick off the 3-day 2013 Hall of Fame Balloon Classic.

Jason Provost, a hot air balloonist from Chicago, and myself cruised up to 24 mph and maxed out at an altitude of 1,000 feet.
We skimmed tree tops, wished folks good morning and dodged power lines before landing in a small North Canton field off Applegrove Street NW.
