Patch Editors LIfting off for 2013 Hall of Fame Balloon Classic

Patch will be covering the popular annual event in real time, inside the balloon basket, hundreds of feet in the air.

We Patch editors typically keep our ears to the ground while reporting the news in North Canton, but now it's time to put our eyes in the sky.

On Friday, July 19 at 5:45 a.m., myself and Patch Editor Amanda Harnocz will begin boarding one of the 60-plus hot air balloons set to take off over the weekend during the 2013 Balloon Classic/Jackson-Belden Food Fest.

We'll be shooting photos and videos during the trip, and best part is, we'll have the ability to post mid-flight in real time from the balloon basket.

By the time you wake up, you'll be treated to a bevy of aerial photos and video clips, so check back to North Canton Patch Friday morning for unforgettable HD images and clips.

Here's more on the event, according to profootballhoffestival

Check out the 2013 Balloon Classic/Jackson-Belden Food Fest: Friday thru Sunday morning, July 19 - 21!  There will be dozens of food and beverage vendors, musical entertainment, mobile tours, and children’s activities at both the Balloon Classic and Jackson-Belden Food Fest areas. The Canton Regional and Jackson-Belden Chambers of Commerce continue to collaborate to create a fantastic event with the Food Fest under the umbrella of the Enshrinement Festival!

Colorful hot air balloons and the Scarecrow and Rocket Man special shapes will be
flying the friendly skies of Stark County!  We're planning to have a full field of 60+ hot air balloons again this year - so keep your eyes to the sky! Remember too, that after the sun sets on Friday night, we offer a beautiful show - the night glow! And thanks to the Jackson-Belden Chamber for their partnership with us and for the fantastic fireworks extravaganza on Saturday night! Mark your calendars now for this fantastic event!
