North Canton Jaycee Fair Kicks Off Monday

The annual attraction will feature music by Electromode and New Wave Nation, which was a hit in 2011

Roller coasters, fair games and food vendors once again will overtake the parking lot of as the North Canton Jaycee Fair comes to town.

The fair, which has no admittance fee, runs Monday through June 16. Hours are 6 p.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 p.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.

"We're looking forward to having a great fair this year," Fair chairman Eric Smer said, adding he's excited to bring the princess pageant back for another year. The pageant runs Monday and Tuesday, with the crowning on Friday.

"That's something we're really looking forward to doing," he said. "That was a well-welcomed event from the community."

New Wave Nation, which played at the fair last year, makes another appearance Thursday night.

Tickets and hand stamps are available to ride the amusement rides.

The fair also welcomes several food vendors this year, including Pizza Hut, Mediterrenean Cuisine and Smitty's Concessions.
