Vikings One Step Closer to Baseball State Championship

The Hoover High School boys' baseball team made it look easy after beating GlenOak 17-4 in Saturday's Division I district final.

The numbers speak for themselves. 

In Saturday's Division I district final, the Hoover boys' baseball team (22-7) marched to a 17-4 victory over GlenOak with 15 hits in five innings. 

The Vikings have scored 63 runs on 63 hits, and the hot streak couldn't have come at a better time considering Hoover hasn't won a district title since 1999, according to cantonrep.com.

The victory caps off a solid weekend for Hoover which also beat Perry 7-1 on Friday in the district semifinal, according to ncvikingbaseball.com. 

Hoover will advance to the regional semifinal scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday against Aurora at Munson.
