The Vikings used a tough defense and late passing to try and contain the GlenOak Golden Eagles but fell 38-13. The first half of the game had a number of turnovers by both teams. Early in the first quarter, Eagle Raymond Wesley recovered a Viking fumble. The Golden Eagles later scored the first touchdown of the night with a Christian Williams run. The Vikings failed to capitalize on any of these recoveries and with 1:22 remaining in the half the Golden Eagles scored on a 9-yard touchdown run by Bri'onte Dunn. Hoover got the ball back but soon punted, leading to a GlenOak field goal as time ran out to leave the halftime score 17-0 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
