VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Autism Society of Ohio, GREATER AKRON is seeking
volunteers for its Lose The Training Wheels camp.  This is a 5-day camp that teaches individuals (8 years and up) with disabilities to ride a two-wheel conventional bicycle…without training wheels.

The camp will be held from July 30 to August 3 at the CopleyHigh School Auxiliary Gym and needs 80 volunteers to serve as spotters for 40 riders.  Volunteers walk/jog behind bikers to help spot and provide emotional and motivational support.  Volunteers can choose to work the entire week, or for one 75 minute session and must be at least 16 years of age with transportation.

Volunteers must also be able to attend a Volunteer Orientation & Training Session on Sunday, July 29, at 4pm at Copley High School.  This is a great opportunity to volunteer as a group, team or family who want to help change a life. Contact the Autism Society of Ohio, Greater Akron at (330) 940-1441 or LTTWAkron@gmail.com. Information is also on our website at ww.autismsocietygreaterakron.org

What cities have outlawed cell phone usage while driving? Have you seen law enforcement breakingRead More those laws in those cities?

Try Beechwood. $106 fine if caught. But the point of my post is, anyone driving and using a handRead More held phone are endangering others. The local police should be setting an example of safe driving rather than encouraging its use.

Police and other first responders OFTEN have to use their phones to call other departments,Read More hospitals and resources they use that they can't contact by radio. That's like saying a police officer or ambulance should have to follow the speed limits.
