WATCH: Stark State, Ohio State Partner to Make Smooth Transition for Students

Ohio State President Gordon Gee visited Stark State College Tuesday to sign an articulation agreement that would create a smooth transition for Stark State students wanting to attend Ohio State

Ohio State University and are making easier for students to transition from Stark County.

College and university officials met at Stark State Tuesday to sign an articulation agreement that would guarantee that Stark State students earning an associate of arts or associates of sciences degree and have maintained a grade point average of 2.0 or higher will have admission to Ohio State with junior standing.

Ohio State President Gordon Gee attended the signing and said it will greatly benefit both schools and the state of Ohio.

"We're saying Ohio is not only open for business, but Ohio is a place to live and love and nurture and be nurtured," he said. "And it's a place in which the American dream is being signed today." 

Undergraduate tuition for 30 credit hours at OSU averages $10,000 per year; one year at Stark State averages $4,400. Tuition savings for the first two years could be as much as $10,000 to $12,000.
