WATCH: NEO Panthers Prepare for Cheerleading Worlds Competition

Three North Canton athletes share their expectations for the April 25-30 contest in Orlando. If you haven't guessed already, the competition brings together teams from across the globe.

The NEO Panthers, a cheerleading team with athletes from all over Northeast Ohio, soon will compete in the 2012 Cheerleading Worlds competition at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

But don't let the "Disney" stuff fool you. This nationally televised competition is serious business.

The event, held April 25-30, brings together cheerleaders from around the globe, and our local athletes have been putting in some major hours in the gym at 7580 Whipple Ave. NW in North Canton as they perfect their routines.

"Our goal is not to go down and win. It's to have the experience and compete with all the teams in the world and just meet so many new people," cheer instructor Lindsay Galley said. "It's just a really great experience to know you're competing with the best in the country, along with all the other countries."
