WATCH: Kids Make Cyclones, Volcanoes & Dig for Fossils at Science Fair

The math and science fair at the Mary L. Evans Early Childhood Center provided some hands-on fun for kindergarteners Wednesday

Kindergarteners got a chance to create cyclones, dig for fossils and peer through microscopes at the annual math and science fair at the Wednesday.

The event provides hands-on lessons as students move from station to station.

It's not a small feat organizing the event, said Justin Woods, a parent volunteer.

"It took a lot of people to get this together," he said. "First of all, Miss  and Sarah Mallamaci helped me do this. Probably without them I couldn't have gotten this put together."

Students from Hoover High School and North Canton Middle School also lent a hand, and volunteers from Walsh University's Early Education Center participated as part of classwork and community service.

This year's math and science fair is the last to take place at the Mary L. Evans Early Childhood Center. Kindergarten classes will take place at Northwood and Clearmount elementary schools when the district moves to all-day, every-day kindergarten in the fall.
