PHOTOS: Walsh University Hosts Annual International Dinner

Students from around the world attend Walsh University. The Annual Dinner shows off the food, culture and fashion represented by these students.

The Walsh International Committee held its annual International Dinner at the Barrette Business and Community Center Friday night. The event, which started in the '90s, celebrates students from around the world and is organized entirely by those students. The blessing for the meal was given in English and Swahili by Father Amadeus Amana from Tanzania.

The evening started with food that students had cooked from their home countries. Donations could be given to receive a recipe book for these dishes. The money raised from these donations was given to orphanages in Kenya and Uganda for items such as school supplies.

Next in the program were the musical talents of several students from the United States and South Africa. Erick Claure of Bolivia and Maria Conti of the United States performed a salsa dance that they had been practicing for several months.
