North Canton Schools Offer Early Childhood Screenings

The school district will help parents by screening children suspected of having a handicapping condition

The North Canton City School District is offering early childhood screenings for 3- and 4-year-old children.

The screening is for children residing in the North Canton City School District who are suspected of having a handicapping condition.

These screenings are available for parents who have been told their child’s development is not typical for his/her age in the areas such as vision, hearing, speech and language development, motor skills, cognitive development and social functioning.

Special preschool services are available for children who qualify. This screening is to determine kindergarten readiness.

The screening will be held at the Mary L. Evans Early Childhood Center, 301 Portage Street NW on March 22.

Children will be accepted on a pre-registered basis only.

Flyers are available at all North Canton City School buildings, the North Canton Public Library, area preschools and pediatric doctors’ offices.
