Families who were affected by the July 19 heavy rains and subsequent flooding can pick up school supplies at today until 4:30 p.m.

Oryszak put out a , asking for school supplies for students from grade school through high school.

"We collected quite a nice assortment," she told North Canton Patch today.

What's not taken today will be placed in the school's office and families can stop in to take items when they can.

Teachers also will announce the free school supplies during Parent Night Aug. 30 and 31, Oryszak said.

She said she was pleased with the amount of supplies brought in. It was slow moving at first, but people kept bringing in supplies through Monday.

"Yesterday somebody came in with five brown grocery bags just packed," she said.
