North Canton City School District Launches Unified Elementary Design Website

The site hosts information about the Unified Elementary Design for easy access for parents and teachers

Parents and teachers looking for information about North Canton's Unified Elementary Design can find it in one place — on a new website launched this week by the North Canton City School District.

The design comes about because of the district's switch to all-day, every-day kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year and the need to adjust because of that.

As part of the design, and elementaries become K-2 buildings, while and elementaries house grades 3-5.

You can find the Unified Elementary Design website here: https://sites.google.com/a/northcantonschools.org/ued/.

Here's a comment I got from Superintendent Michael Gallina today: "The website is just underway. What you see now is the start of a progressive campaign to continue to add information as is becomes available, including an FAQ section. I have sent a letter to each school family in our district that shares the plan for the site. That letter should arrive at homes today (Wednesday) and tomorrow. It invites folks to get to the site and to be ready to stay with us via the site. We will continue to add items as they are available/approved. There is a timeline included on the site that alludes to information that will be coming along, or that has already taken place."
