The Scholastic Art Show is a nationally recognized display of student work in grades 7 - 12, representing a variety of media from traditional – such as painting and drawing – to more contemporary fashion design and digital entries.

Works selected with the top honor of a "gold key" are sent to New York City to be judged nationally.  Locally over 4,000 works are entered each year, with approximately 200 being selected for the local display. The show will be held from Jan. 22-30 in the Student Center and Fine Arts Building at Kent State Stark.

North Canton Little Art Gallery: "Art From the Classroom" Show

Beginning in January, the annual "Art from the Classroom" showcase of North Canton City School's talented young artists will be on display at the Little Art Gallery adjacent to the North Canton Public Library.

Each year this show is a community favorite that brings out young and old to enjoy just a sampling of student work. The show begins in late January with Hoover High Schools, grades 9-12, and concludes in March with our elementary and intermediate buildings.

Here’s the show line-up at The Little Art Gallery, which is open during regular library hours:

  • Hoover High School – Jan. 21 through Feb. 10
  • North Canton Middle School – Feb. 19 through March 10
  • Elementary/intermediate schools – March 18 through April 7

A sampling of Hoover student artwork can be seen in the photo gallery accompanying this story.
