Lions Club Donating $3,900 to North Canton Schools

The North Canton City Schools Board of Education will conduct its last regular meeting of 2012 at 6 p.m. today in the Hoover High School Media Center.

In addition to selecting a president pro tem and setting a date for the January 2013 organizational meeting, board members are expected to:

• Accept a $3,909 check from North Canton Lions Club members Joan Ferris and Dave Greek. The donation will be used to purchase two Smart Board interactive whiteboards, Bluetooth connections and a data projector for use at Hoover High.

• Accept the donation of Cub Car golf cart from Greg and Kelly Moore for use by the Hoover High Instrumental Music Department.

• Approve a number of personnel matters, including the hiring of classified workers, awarding a supplemental contract and approving a list of classified substitutes.

• Re-appoint Julie Baxter to the North Canton Public Library Board of Trustees for a term running from Jan. 1, 2013, to Dec. 31, 2019.
