What put Hoover over the top? It's graduation rate is high at 98 percent and 86 percent of its graduates are college-bound. It's average SAT score is 1743, and ACT 23, according to the Daily Beast stats.
Hoover High School falls at No. 605 out of Newsweek's list of America's 1,000 best high schools.
