Reminders of the Past: Caring for your Photographs

Every family has them, albums, or perhaps shoeboxes of family photos, some new, some old, some identified, some not.  What to do with them?  How can we keep them safe for the next generation?  The Society can help!  Come to our photo preservation event on Saturday, November 5 at 10 a.m. to hear Jennifer Souers Chevraux, Education Officer of the Intermuseum Conservation Association of Cleveland who will speak about caring for your family photographs and other paper objects.

In addition, after the talk, the NCHS staff and volunteers can help you digitally preserve your precious memories by scanning a limited number of photos per attendee.  We are especially interested in acquiring digital copies of photos of North Canton scenes for our collection.  Cost for the workshop is free, but reservations are requested due to limited space.  Cost for scanning is $10 per disk, with a limit of ten photos per person.  Call the Society at 330-494-4791 for reservations or e-mail us at ncantonheritage@sbcglobal.net.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
