Rooster's Donates over $2000 to the Friends of the Stark Pound

Local car cruisers gathered weekly at Rooster's to help raise funds for the Friends of the Stark Pound. Over $2000 was raised and a check was given to a Pound Board Member on Monday.

The Monday night cruise in's at Roosters have been well attended, with an average of over 150 cars each night.  The goal of the gatherings have been to raise money through 50/50 drawings, sales of donated items through raffles and donations, to help the Friends of the Stark Pound.

This Monday was nearly the end of the cruise in season at Rooster's.  Even though they are holding another cruise in next Monday, DJ Spikeman's "Cruise in Crew" and Rooster's owners Shawn and Amy Wilson decided to donate the funds raised over the summer on the 10th in case of rain.  The total amount of the check given to the Friends of the Stark Pound was over $1600, with an additional $400 that was collected through donations at the sign in table and directly to the donation dogs roaming the parking lot.

The cruise in's began on June 4th and will finish on September 17th, weather permitting.  A group of car enthusiest volunteers helped run the show.  They had such duties as parking cars, directing traffic, along with selling 50/50 and raffle tickets.  Most nights there was at least 10 people in the crew.

Some local businesses that donated items to the show were Rooster's, Esber Beverage, Thrifty Muffler and Autozone.  Individuals who donated were Ray Barth and Mark Netro, who along with helping to organize the events, donated trophies that were given away each week to some of the best cars.

Attendees to the show were entertained by DJ Spikeman, who played oldies for passerby's and dancers alike.  There was even a weekly group dance headed up by one of Rooster's managers.  Cruisers who attended the show were even offered door prizes and a 15% discount on food and beverages during the event.
