Rooster's Cruise In Benefits Dog Pound

Roosters restaurant and local car cruisers helped raise money for Friends of the Stark County Pound. Check out the gallery to see some cool cars!

kicked off it's weekly cruise-ins this Monday with a well attended event.  The cruise in nearly filled up Rooster's parking lot with well over 180 cars.  Oldies music is spun by the Spikeman DJ service.  There are door prizes given out every hour.  Sponsorship is provided by Roosters, Advance Auto Parts, Esber Beverage and Miller products, and Summit Racing.

When a cruiser arrived, they were directed by a team of volunteers to quickly filling spots all around the restaurant.  Once parked, they filled in their free registration and received 15% off of their bill if they eat at Roosters.  They were also entered into the door prize for the evening.

The cruise in is organized by Rooster's management and Mark Netro (my father).  The event also raises funds weekly that will be donated to the Friends of the Pound to benefit Dog Pound animals with a 50/50 drawing.  Spikeman's "Cruisin' Crew" roam the lot during the evening to sell single tickets as well as arm, car and building lengths.  They raised $123 with the 50/50 on Monday as well as nearly $100 in additional donations.

The cruisers themselves were on the receiving end of 10 door prizes with 3 car awards given away for Best in show, along with 2 "Cruisin Crew" picks.

The cruise ins are every Monday until the end of August but Roosters will keep the show going as long as the weather is nice.  Next week will feature a tribute to Veterans by the Canton American Legion's Motorcycle group.  There will be a 21 gun salute along with a flag raising.  The Cruise in starts at 5pm each week, be sure to show up early for a prime spot.
