The Hoover High boys basketball team welcomed the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish 65-60 at home Tuesday night. The teams kept the game close all night, but the Vikings pulled out the win in the end. St. Vincent-St. Mary is the defending Division II state champion.

The Vikings were lead by this season's leading scorer Dom Iero, rebound leader Harrison Blackledge and assist leader Micheal Ducey. Hoover has won eight of their last nine games.

The team's next game is this Friday at Hoover High against Cardinal Mooney. This is their last regular season game before Sectionals begin on March 3.
