Ohio's 48th House District Race is Finalized

November's race among Kirk Schuring, John Deagan and Amanda Trump is set

No independent candidates have filed to run for Ohio's 48th district seat in the House.

That means November's race will be between incumbent Kirk Schuring (R-Jackson Township), John M. Deagan (a libertarian from Canton) and Amanda Trump (D-Canton).

Each ran unopposed in the primary.

The 48th district represents North Canton, Jackson Township and Navarre. It also covers portions of Perry, Bethlehem and Canton townships.

State representatives serve two-year terms. This term begins Jan. 1, 2013.

K. Schuring deserves to lose in November's election; he had 2 years to deal with the issue of pension reform, already passed in a bi-partisan fashion in Senate (by an over- whelming vote), he sat, sat, sat ..... This is highly irresponsible at an important economic issue and of stupid wastefulness. He should not be re-elected ever; the voters of the 5 pension plans will remember his laziness.
