Candidate Statement: North Canton faces tremendous challenges as its government, businesses, schools and citizens face a new economic landscape. The loss of the Hoover campus, together with overall reduced revenues means that there are difficult decisions to be made to retain the standards that we’ve set for our community. We need smart, dedicated and compassionate leaders to guide us through these challenging times.

I grew up in Tuscarawas County and joined the Air Force when I was 18 years old. During my military career, I earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business while attending college in the evening. I had the opportunity to live all around this great country and overseas, but nothing compared to Northeast Ohio. This is my home. So when I retired at the highest enlisted grade, Chief Master Sergeant, I completed law school in Cincinnati and moved to North Canton.

My training and experience as a systems analyst in the Air Force and as a practicing attorney provide me with a skill set that will enhance city council. I’m a problem solver with proven leadership skills and will work with council and city administration to create jobs, preserve emergency services and enhance our government and park services. We need city council persons that are informed, enthusiastic and that work together to make proactive decisions based on the present and future needs of our community. That’s what I intend to bring to the table.

I’m asking for your vote for North Canton City Council, Ward 3.
