Thousands Owed to North Canton from Income Tax Non-Filers

North Canton is going after residents who haven't paid their 1.5 percent income tax aggressively.

Over the last year, close to 100 people have been summoned to North Canton's Mayors Court since the law director stepped up efforts to collect income taxes that haven't been paid.

According to the Canton Repository, the city is ramping up its efforts to collect the1.5 percent tax due to a looming $600,000 general fund deficit.

Many of the people summoned owe hundreds to thousands of dollars to the city.
