On the Agenda: Update on North Main Street Reconstruction

The $3.8 million project will improve North Main Street from Applegrove Street to Orion Street by adding a center turn lane

North Canton City Council will meet at 6:45 p.m. today for a meeting to consider four ordinances dealing with streets and alleys. Also up for consideration in that meeting is a resolution regarding the renewal of a 1.5-mill EMS levy.

A meeting of the whole will also come to order at 7 p.m. Some highlights of the meeting are:

  • Councilman Dan Griffith is expected to give an update on letters that would be sent to owners of vacant buildings. The city has that are structurally defective, unsanitary or have inadequate maintenance because of continued vacancy.
  • Councilman Tim Fox is expected to give an update on the North Main Street Reconstruction, Phase 6. The $3.8 million project will improve North Main Street from Applegrove Street to Orion Street by adding a center turn lane. Interested in more summer construction news?
