On the Agenda: Housing Rules Set to Move Forward

Council is slated to have its first reading tonight on an ordinance that would require property owners to register vacant buildings

North Canton City Council members discussed last week ways they could ensure that the quality and integrity of the city is maintained. And what they've homed in on is ensuring all vacant buildings are registered with the city.

The idea is, if the city is aware of those vacant properties, they'll be less likely to fall into disrepair. .

Council is slated to have its first reading on an ordinance that would require property owners to register their vacant buildings when members meet tonight in North Canton City Hall.

The meeting is slated for 7 p.m. in North Canton City Hall, 145 N. Main St. Council members will also meet at 6:50 p.m. to allow for discussion about authorizing legislation relating to the administration of the dispatch department.
